Susan Surasky has worked as a graphic designer at Eastman Kodak Company, Xerox Corporation, Visual InSeitz, Association Montessori International, and Fisher Yates Communications where she designed international presentations and corporate marketing materials. In 2008 she joined Sandalwood Press, an award-winning publisher of both fiction and non-fiction books.

Susan is also a painter, photographer and illustrator. Her oils have won awards and hang in a number of private collections. Her photographs have been collected and published in two books Ireland and On Safari in New York. Her illustrations grace the pages of the non-fiction book 101 Ways to Be Happy.

She is a past member of the Family Selection Board of Habitat for Humanity and is a contributor to a number of conservation and wildlife rescue foundations.

Jan Surasky is the founder of the book publishing firm Sandalwood Press and a former book reviewer, movie reviewer and entertainment writer for a San Francisco daily newspaper. Her many articles and short stories have been published in national and regional magazines and newspapers. She has taught writing at a number of local colleges and at the literary center Writers & Books. She is the author of three award-winning novels, Rage Against the Dying Light, Back to Jerusalem, and The Lilac Bush is Blooming. She is also the author of a non-fiction book 101 Ways to Be Happy and the editor of On Safari in New York.
